We work shoulder-to-shoulder with technologists to build prototypes, develop intellectual property, and stress-test market assumptions before the real capital goes in.

India has spent 15 years building a world-class startup ecosystem in consumer tech, fintech, and software. That foundation is real and remarkable. But the next chapter requires something harder and more consequential: owning the technology itself.

Three forces are converging to make this the defining moment for Indian deep-tech.

Geo-political shift

The global supply chain is fracturing. Trade barriers, export controls, and geopolitical uncertainty have exposed how deeply India depends on foreign technology in the areas that matter most: energy infrastructure, defence, AI, communications, and electronics. That dependence is no longer acceptable. It has to be built here.

The China +1 opportunity

The world is actively looking for an alternative to China in IP-led manufacturing. India has the domestic market scale, the demographic advantage, and crucially, the engineering talent to step into that role. The opportunity is enormous, but only for those building real technology, not assembling it.

Atmanirbhar Bharat

Self-reliance cannot be achieved by policy alone. It requires companies that control the technology layer, the hardware systems, the firmware, and the IP. Giraffe Studios exists to build exactly those companies.

The ways in which we generate energy and consume energy has fundamentally transformed. This transition is happening around the world with China leading the way. As India grows its economy and builds its energy infrastructure, technologies driving energy transition will be critical. India's energy future cannot be powered by imported technology. We back companies building the IP layer for the energy transition - power electronics, electric motors, energy storage, solar, and grid infrastructure. And these are businesses that will matter globally, not just domestically.

Like the steam engine or the Internet, Generative AI will have profound impact on all businesses across all ecosystems. While some businesses will become unviable and the majority of businesses shall remain competitive only with successful adoption of AI. The AI revolution creates a new kind of infrastructure race. We are focused on the layers where India can build enduring advantage for itself and the world - AI models, training infrastructure, and applications built on deep domain knowledge.

One deep-tech company doesn't just create one company

Every IP-led technology business that succeeds creates an ecosystem of businesses behind it. Motor manufacturers need magnet makers, die casters, and fabricators.
